Beat the Heat at State Library of Queensland

Looking to escape the hot weather this week? Come visit the cool of the State Library of Queensland.

Keep the kids happy with:

  • The Imagination Playscape, a play space for children under 12 and their parents, carers and friends to design, create and build together.
  • The Corner and play your way through our interactive environment carefully prepared for children from birth through to eight years. Open Mon - Sun 10am - 3pm.
  • Tim Jackman as he hickory dickory rocks The Corner! Join him for an all singing, all dancing, wild Woodstock-like ride of nursery rhymes. Every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 11am-12noon.

View Keepsakes of War, the second exhibition in the Treasures Wall as part of the Q ANZAC 100: Memories for a New Generation program.

Explore Tradition Now where twelve diverse individuals share their family stories through objects, photographs, artwork and memories.

Or just explore our diverse collections comprising a rich and diverse range of books, journals and magazines, newspapers, manuscripts and archives, maps, rare books, music, photographs, films and videos, eresources and more. Study quietly on level 4 or book a meeting room for group discussions.

We’re open 10am to 8pm Monday to Thursday and 10am to 5pm Friday to Sunday.
