Applications for research fellowships are open!

By Tamara Crew | 23 June 2022

Do you have interesting tale from Queensland’s history to tell? Or perhaps some fresh thinking for the GLAM sector you’d like to explore?

Applications are now open for State Library’s research fellowships as part of the Queensland Memory Awards. With $80,000 in bursaries available, now could be the time to focus on that idea that’s been bubbling away.

What is a research fellowship? Through our fellowships, storytellers, researchers and creatives of all kinds bring the collection alive with their insights and interpretations. They dive deep into the collections of the John Oxley Library to join the dots that uncover untold stories, tell little-known histories and expand our existing knowledge about any number of subjects. The Mittelheuser Scholar in Residence also supports a GLAM worker to develop new skills, tools or resources for the sector.

There are 6 fellowships on offer:

If you think you have a project that needs to be told, needs to see the light of day or have its underbelly exposed – start your application today here.  Applications close Fri 15 July 2022.

If you’re interested and have questions, read our FAQ or reach out to us at fellowships@slq.qld.gov.au or on (07) 3840 7879 or (07) 3840 7887.
