
Young Writers Award 2008
The State Library of Queensland Young Writers Award 2008 is now closed.
The judging process will commence mid August and the winner will be announced at the Premier’s Literary Awards on Tuesday 16 September 2008. Following the announcement, the winning entries will be posted on our website.
The winner receives $2,000 cash prize, and first runner-up recieves the Maureen Donahoe Encouragement Award of $500. Both take part in professional development programs with the Queensland Writers Centre and Brisbane Writers Festival.
Previous recipients of this prestigious award include Tara-June Winch, Alasdair Duncan and James Halford who have gone on to successfully publish their work.
Next year’s Young Writers Award will open in May 2009.
