Music: Robert Forster
The University of Queensland was fertile ground for Robert Forster. He wandered into an Arts degree and graduated having formed The Go-Betweens with his friend, Grant McLennan.
From 1978, the "highly influential and stupendously good pop group" released six albums and "toured the world to ever growing acclaim" (Forster’s words). In 1989, The Go-Betweens separated and Forster established his solo music career in Germany.
Fans were thrilled when The Go-Betweens re-formed in 2000 and won an ARIA for their last album "Oceans Apart".
In May 2006, Grant McLennan passed away. Robert Forster remains in Brisbane with his family. He fondly recalls growing up here and indulging his passion for cricket, surfing and Roxy Music.
