The Artists' Books Online project showcases our artists’ book collection, recognised as one of the best in Australia. We have featured both Australian and overseas artists’ books from the State Library's Australian Library of Art which incorporates both the James Hardie Library of Australian Fine Arts and the History and Art of the Book Collection.

Education Queensland's e-learning environment, the Learning Place, provided the education component of the project, designed to closely link to the school curriculum and promote artists books as a valuable learning resource for teachers and students throughout Queensland.

The artists’ books in the State Library's collection have always been popular for tours by student groups and this project was a great way to give rural and regional students access to this wonderful collection.
