Melissa Liando

This event is now in the past.

Hear from Melissa Liandro of Csutoras & Liando at the second session of the 2017 UQ Architecture lecture series.

Melissa Liando is one half of Csutoras & Liando, founded in 2012 with her partner Laszlo Csutoras. Between the two of them, Melissa and Laszlo have lived and worked in Hungary, Australia, the UK, and currently Indonesia. While in London they worked at Cottrell and Vermeulen Architecture and Tony Fretton Architects respectively on residential, public, and educational projects in the UK and abroad. Csutoras & Liando take a 'simple and straightforward' approach to design, experimenting with materials where possible and practical.

For her talk, Melissa will showcase the firm's Kineforum project, and other current and previous works, to illustrate local practices and working methods; the surprises architects encounter; and how to approach and accommodate them in realising ideas.

The annual UQ Architecture lecture series brings together forward-thinking architects and provocateurs who are each engaged in the generation of new knowledge, ideas and strategies within the field of architecture. Come along to free weekly lectures (21 Mar – 23 May) to widen your knowledge base, be inspired and gain valuable insight into the design processes and solutions of the contemporary architect.

If you can't make it on the night, check out the live stream. The video will also be available for viewing online after the event on the APDL Vimeo Channel. .Architectural professionals who attend or watch the series will be eligible for two formal continuing professional development (CPD) points (more info).
