Uncle Bob Anderson

This event is now in the past.

Join Brisbane’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander elders on the second Wednesday of each month as they share stories from their lives, families and history.

Dr. Robert V Anderson OAM, or Uncle Bob, is a Ngugi man of Moreton Island (Moorgumpin) who became part of the North Stradbroke Island (Minjerribah) community as a student in the 1930s and 40s. He has a long involvement in unions, particularly the Building Workers' Industrial Union, was Chair of the Queensland Reconciliation Council, is a member of the Quandamooka Land Council and is one of the family representatives involved in the native title claim for Straddie.
