Live Writing with Kate Pullinger
This event is now in the past.
Kate Pullinger, celebrated author of Inanimate Alice and the award-winning The Mistress of Nothing, is writing a new work before a live audience as part of the Memory Makes Us project.
Drawing from both the collected ‘long-term memories’ from the if:book site and a live social media stream representing ‘short-term memory’, Kate will create a new written piece.
Work in progress will be publicly accessible and open to the influences and responses of the audience — including you!
Kate’s work will be treated as performance, available only for a short time following its creation.
"Live writing events are always both exciting and unpredictable," says Pullinger. "For me, the theme of memory is very rich — lost memories, forgotten memories, memories that surface unbidden when triggered by the smell of someone's perfume, the sound of heels crossing a floor... Memory Makes Us is an opportunity to explore what the city and its people choose to remember."
