Introduction to Contracts and Copyright

Contracts and Copyright

There is nothing quite like being offered your first publishing contract, or getting ready to self-publish your first book. But before you sign anything, it is important to understand all of the legal terms and know what your rights are.

This session with Alex Adsett, will give you the information and understanding to be able to navigate a publishing contract or copyright laws, covering the common terms included in Australian contracts, how royalties work, the differences between print, re-print and digital rights, and questions of copyright. You’ll also learn what to avoid and what to watch out for!
