Peculiar Preservations
Peculiar Preservations will offer a rare insight into some perspectives on the enigmatic art of preservation.
Speaker Heather Janetzki will discuss the Queensland Museum’s collection preparation techniques, including taxidermy and skeletons; and will bring with her some spine-tingling specimens from the collection… *cough whale bones cough*. Local artist Emma Lindsay will then demonstrate how the specimens can be used by researchers and artists – including a live art class!
Tickets for Peculiar Preservations are $10. Your ticket price includes an adventurous tea from the amazing crew at Slurp whose flavours include strawberries and champagne, prickly pear, chocolate truffle and coco cabana!
This event is part of The Edge’s Clever Convention Spring Series, rounding up some unconventionally clever people to thrill, amaze, and regale across several scintillating subjects; also including Mindful Motion ( Sept. 10) and Curated Collections (Oct. 8).
