UQ Architecture lecture — Mel Bright

Mel Bright

This event is now in the past.

Join us for the fourth lecture in the 2015 UQ Architecture lecture series, presented by SLQ's Asia Pacific Design Library and the UQ School of Architecture.

This annual lecture series brings together forward-thinking architects and provocateurs who are each engaged in the generation of new knowledge, ideas and strategies within the field of architecture.

The fourth presenter for 2015 is Mel Bright, owner and founding director of MAKE Architecture in Melbourne. MAKE is an emerging practice that has already gathered a collection of built work that displays a striking conversation with Melbourne's architectural heritage. With their work predominantly in residential builds, alterations and extensions, the careful and strategic understanding of occupational use is complimented by an intrinsic interest in material specificity framed by a wider concern for urban scale and domesticity.

The series commences on 10 March and runs weekly on Tuesday evenings (excluding 7 April) at 6.30pm, with networking and refreshments from 6pm. If you can't make it to the event, watch the live stream online or check out the recording after the event on Design Online.

Check out the full program of speakers or watch online video recordings of lectures from previous years.

Come along to widen your knowledge base, be inspired and gain valuable insight into the design processes and solutions of the contemporary architect.

Architectural professionals who attend the series will be eligible for 2 formal continuing professional development (CPD) points.
