UQ Architecture lecture — Callum Fraser
This event is now in the past.
This annual lecture series brings together forward-thinking architects and provocateurs who are each engaged in the generation of new knowledge, ideas and strategies within the field of architecture.
The fifth presenter for 2015 is Callum Fraser, Founding Director of international architecture firm Elenberg Fraser. Since founding Elenberg Fraser in 1998, Callum is now recognised as one of Australia's and South East Asia's leading architects, known for his singular ability to combine high-level design with commercially viable outcomes.
Under Callum's direction, Elenberg Fraser has grown from a small Melbourne-based studio to a global practice with a unique focus on parametric design — architecture based on building performance. He has a personal interest in fusing the aesthetics of architecture with research into passive building technologies, and his overall design direction has both a playful intellect and deep-seated cultural appreciation.
Come along to widen your knowledge base, be inspired and gain valuable insight into the design processes and solutions of the contemporary architect.
The series commences on 10 March and runs weekly on Tuesday evenings (excluding 7 April) at 6.30pm, with networking and refreshments from 6pm. If you can't make it to the event, watch the live stream online or check out the recording after the event on Design Online.
Architectural professionals who attend the series will be eligible for 2 formal continuing professional development (CPD) points.
