A night in the JOL: Fashion innovators – then and now

Illustrated front cover from The Queenslander, October 24, 1935

This event is now in the past.

Like many Queensland industries, innovation has been a key factor defining our state’s fashion designers and dressmakers. Designers such as Janet Walker, Sarah Jenyns, Paula Stafford and Gwen Gillam have created a legacy that continues today.

Join Dr Michael Marendy, curator and textiles conservator, and Clare Collyer, designer, in conversation with Ian Townsend about Queensland’s unique fashion history and future.

A night in the JOL is a monthly series of talks delving into different aspects of Queensland’s rich and diverse history.
