Promote and share your collections online (Cairns)
This event is now in the past.
Are you a representative of a heritage organisation, interested in promoting and sharing your collections online? Come along to our workshop, which introduces you to a range of online tools available to enable the promotion and sharing of collections online.
Learn how to connect your community to engage with these resources and encourage wider contribution to Anzac centenary commemoration projects online with this 1.5 day workshop. Morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea provided.
Your organisation and local community will also be invited to contribute to First World War initiatives which are already in progress. Some initiatives include Q ANZAC 100 #OnThisDay: retelling the news of the day from 100 years ago on Twitter, Facebook and blogs. Follow SLQ on Facebook, Twitter or our blogs. There’s also Q ANZAC 100 on Historypin: search, discover, learn and contribute your story about the Queensland experience of the First World War.
Before this workshop, there are also opportunities to get a hands-on look at original First World War materials in our unique White Gloves experience and learn how to care for your First World War collections with a specialist conservator.
Please note: this is a 1.5 day workshop, running 9am-4pm, 3 June 2015 and 9am-1pm, 4 June 2015
This event is part of Q ANZAC 100: Memories for a New Generation, proudly supported by the Queensland Government.
