Wake in Fright (M)

Wake in Fright

This event is now in the past.

When urbanite teacher John Grant stops over in the desolate, brutal mining town of Bundayabba, he is ill prepared for the physical and spiritual confrontations that await him, in this striking journey into the dark heart of Australian culture.

This film is screened as part of our SLiQ flicks Sunday free film program. This month we’ve selected films looking at life in the extremes. Even under the most challenging conditions, the human spirit has always found ways to adapt, and in the most arduous circumstances people will make a life for themselves.
