Pool Party

Pool Party

This event is now in the past.

The tale of how a deserted, derelict, Olympic sized swimming pool was transformed into Brooklyn’s most happening music venue for three glorious summers.

Weaving stories of neighbourhood residents with music and performances by Aesop Rock, the Beastie Boys, Black Lips, the Breeders, Deerhunter, The Hold Steady, the Liars, Les Savy Fav, Matt and Kim, MIA, Sonic Youth, Tall Firs, the Ting Tings, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Yo La Tengo, and more, Pool Party chronicles the colourful history of McCarren Pool as we celebrate this unique music venue during its final season.

This screening will be followed by a panel discussion.

SLiQ Flicks is screening Pool Party, as part of the UR{BNE} Film Festival - an inaugural urban design and architecture film festival featuring a range of films that inform and inspire about urban design, architecture, public spaces and collaborative design process.
