UR{BNE} Film Festival Opening Night: My Playground

My Playground

This event is now in the past.

Celebrate the launch of this inaugural UR{BNE} Film Festival with a series of urban film shorts followed by the screening of My Playground (2009, 50mins). After the screening, stay on for music and a cash bar on the gorgeous Queensland Terrace.

My Playground explores the way parkour and free-running are changing the perception of urban space.

Featuring the Danish performance freerunners Team JiYo, the film travels the world from Denmark to Japan, the USA, UK and China to explore where urban mobility is heading.

Fascinated by the way Team JiYo convey architecture, Bjarke Ingels takes the team to some of BIG’s buildings to explore and unfold their skills which are as groundbreaking as the architecture itself.

UR{BNE} Films is an inaugural urban design and architecture film festival featuring a range of films that inform and inspire about urban design, architecture, public spaces and collaborative design process. View the full program of films.

These films are presented by SLiQ Flicks, the Asia Pacific Design Library and Department of Local Government and Planning, in support of the UR{BNE} Festival.
