Carer sessions: Lessons of Darkness

Lessons of Darkness

This event is now in the past.

Parents and carers are invited to enjoy a free morning film where children are welcome, as part of our SLiQFlicks Carers Sessions program.

The winner of this month's audience vote is Lessons of Darkness.

Option A: Yolngu Boy (M, 2001, 88min)

Three childhood friends stand on the cusp of adulthood, with very different futures before each of them. A gruelling journey through the Australian wilderness to address their Aboriginal heritage will be their greatest test, and either bring them together or separate them forever.
Director: Stephen Johnson | Cast: Sean Mununggurr, Nathan Daniels

Option B: Lessons of Darkness (1992, 50min)

Master film maker Werner Herzog takes us to the flaming wreckage of the post-war Kuwatian oil fields in this stunning, impressionistic documentary that paints a vision of the Earth transformed into a hostile, alien landscape.
Director: Werner Herzog

Option C: Man from Snowy River (PG, 1982, 102min)

The classic Australian tale of hard living, generational conflict, and the ruthless beauty of the Australian outback.
Director: George Miller | Cast: Tom Burlinson, Kirk Douglas
