Scary movies - Why do we watch them?
This event is now in the past.
Since the inception of cinema, audiences have loved to be scared by their movies. Is it for a quick thrill, or a deeper primal need to confront our fears?
Join film journalist and BIFF organiser Sarah Ward, QUT media lecturer Dr Mark Ryan, and Andrew Leavold of Trash Video fame, as they examine our fascination with cinematic danger.
This is part of the Behind the Screen series complementing the SLiQ Flicks film program. Behind the Screen is a series of monthly panel discussion covering all things film, presented by film journalist and BIFF organiser Sarah Ward and featuring special guest speakers each month.
The next Behind the Screen panel discussion will be Television: The New Frontier? on Thursday, 24 May.
