Word Play: For young readers and illustrators
This event is now in the past.
Word Play –the best BWF experience for students. Word Play creates exhilarating literary experiences to inspire lifelong readers and runs for 3 days over the Brisbane Writers Festival (4-6 Sept).
Particularly suited for students in grades 4–10, Word Play is an academically engaging experience for young readers, writers and illustrators. It is carefully balanced to provide a fun and engaging program that also responds to the Australian curriculum, also providing supportive resources for teachers connecting Word Play with their classroom programs.
It offers our young writers and readers an exciting glimpse into the world of literature where they can meet and learn from professional authors, publishers and illustrators including Dr Karl Kruszelnicki, Michael Gerard Bauer, Margaret Clark and Deborah Abela, just to name a few. Some of these literary figures will also have sessions running for the Online Literature Festival. Be sure to check out the Brisbane Writers Festival website for more details on the program.
