The Salon Electric

The Salon Electric

Be seduced by the alluring glow of neon.

The Salon Electric is a celebration of neon signs in Queensland and the Asia Pacific, including the process of making neon, its relationship to night life subculture and its latterday resurgence in contemporary art and design.

On display in both the APDL Design Lounge on level 2 and Infozone on level 1, you can see iconic pieces curated by neon maker Michael Blazek alongside photographs from SLQ’s collections.

You can also visit Neon signs in Queensland at SLQ Historypin to view more neon signs from our collection and pin your own images.
