White gloves tour: Etchings
Don the white gloves and explore examples of etching from SLQ’s Australian Library of Art and John Oxley Library.
The printmaking technique of etching has been used as both a documentary and an artistic medium. Examples from colonial Queensland prints to contemporary artists’ books show the variety of effects that etching can achieve, while copper etching plates help explain the practicalities of the technique.
This event is part of the Metal As Anything: Ron McBurnie exhibition, showcasing 30 years of intricate and endearing etchings by one of Australia’s leading printmakers.
