This event is now in the past.

Set the scene and tell your story!

Bring the family to The Parlour and together learn how to make your own animation movie using stop motion techniques.

The Parlour will be set up with six workstations, each featuring three amazing background scenes from Queensland published picture book, Three Little Pumpkins, written by Nadia Sunde and illustrated by Jody Macgregor.

Choose your favourite background and build your scene using any of the materials and characters provided. Once the stage is set you'll learn how to record your very own narrative using a web camera and stop motion software.

Discover how to record, save and present your stop motion animation to the world. Take your creation and upload it to YouTube, share it on Facebook and let your story come alive with Stop-Start-Art.

With the right equipment you will even be able to do it at home!

For ages 3-9
4 - 20 Jan (Mon-Fri), 10.30am-12noon & 12.30pm-2pm

Once you’re done, follow the Lucy Goosey trail up to level 2 and explore Look! the art of Australian picture books today, or join in the Look! holiday fun activities happening daily from 4 to 22 January.

Interested in animation workshops for young creatives aged 9-16 these summer holidays? Book your spot at Stop Motion Animation Workshops, from 9-12 January, and learn how to create your own clay animation sequence, just like Wallace and Gromit!
