Deepen the Conversation: Reading to Children, with Mem Fox
This event is now in the past.
Listen to audio recordings of events.
"I beg you all to read superb books aloud to your children! Begin on the day they are born." Mem Fox, literacy expert and author of classics such as Possum Magic.
Research shows that reading to a child from an early age contributes to language, critical thinking and literacy development. Half a child's brain growth occurs between birth and age four, which makes this a crucial time for parents, carers and educators to foster a love of writing, illustrations and stories in children.
Join Mem Fox as she explores the role reading plays in the literacy development of children. She will present practical advice on making reading an integral part of life from infancy and share ideas for reading games and activities that foster learning and creativity.
(This event was sold out; however a live audio stream was available during the session.)
