Dinner with Katie Noonan

Katie Noonan

Sit down and enjoy a gourmet meal with songstress Katie Noonan. In the intimate setting of the SLQ Treasures Wall, chat with her about the past, the future and her musical philosophy.

Katie’s technical mastery and pure voice has made her one of Australia’s most significant and beloved vocalists.

A mother, singer, producer, songwriter, pianist and business woman, Katie is four times ARIA Award winning and six times platinum selling songstress who first came to prominence as the pure-voiced songstress of indie pop band George.

George’s diverse musical influences (opera, jazz and underground rock) heralded a new maturity in Brisbane’s sound. The bands first album, Polyserena, debuted at number 1 in the national charts, achieving double platinum status and spending 36 weeks in the Top 50 charts. George’s final show was performed on the steps of the Sydney Opera House in 2005.

Katie has gone on to success with her folk trio Elixir and continues to extend herself creatively by composing for physical theatre through Circa, and working with classical guitarist Karin Schaupp.

Plus, prior to the dinner Katie will be presenting a free public talk, exploring her musical influence and offerings with Noel Mengel.
