A Night in the JOL: the community music spirit in Queensland

Bush band performing at Mount Surprise, Queensland, ca. 1905

This event is now in the past.

Discuss community music making and its importance in the lives of Queenslanders from colonial times to now, at a lively evening forum with Professor Peter Roennfeldt and Dr. Brydie-Leigh Bartleet from the Queensland Conservatorium in conversation with Dr Kate Evans, ABC Radio National.

Treasures from the John Oxley Library will be on display, including photographs, programs, posters, scores and memorabilia from music makers and music lovers throughout Queensland’s history. A Live! Curators tour will also occur at 5pm, before the discussion.

Please note - audience members will be required to cloak all bags to ensure the safety of State Library’s collections.
