On the soapbox: music and politics

Mark Thewlis

This event is now in the past.

Join 4EB station manager Peter Rohweder, lyricist and vocalist for local punk legends A.I.M, Mark Thewlis, and musician Steve Towson for a lively half hour discussing music, politics, and how the two work together.

Since the formation of society, people have gathered together, away from the official venues of discourse, to air their grievances and concerns. Can the world of independent music offer the same opportunities?

This talk is part of the Live! Second Saturday festivities in June, celebrating the independent, abrasive, DIY voice of Brisbane. Check out the full program for the day or download the free SLQ Live! app (available from the App Store and Google Play).

Please note: to book for this session you need a Live! Second Saturday: Tear it up ticket. This ticket gives you access to every event happening as part of the mini-festival.
