Help us recreate Queensland’s very first band, which was held in the City Botanic Gardens in 1857. The event featured the Brisbane Band – a four piece ensemble with a varied program of dances and themes. Brisbane City Big Band, a subset of Brisbane’s oldest community band, the Brisbane Municipal Concert Band, will carry the frivolity into the late afternoon with their lively jazz and vocal repertoire.
