Yarnin’ time with Tiga Bayles

Tiga Bayles

This event is now in the past.

Join Brisbane’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elders on the second Wednesday of each month as they share stories from their lives, families and history.

Tiga Bayles, a descendant of the Wirri clan of the Birri Gubba Nation, is a social activist and supporter of Aboriginal land rights. Tiga was one of the original Aboriginal Tent Embassy members in 1972 and this year he was in Canberra on Australia Day for the highly publicised 40th anniversary. He was also involved in the Commonwealth Games protests in Brisbane in 1982.

Join Tiga as he talks about his life, his experiences and his views about Indigenous politics and protests.

Part of State of Emergency.
