Tea & Music: Musical Odditoreum

This event is now in the past.

To highlight State Library’s Odditoreum exhibition, Tea & Music features a delightful program of musical oddities.

Join us as folk duo cloudstreet multi-instrumentalists, Nicole Murray and John Thompson, present a selection of quirky anecdotes and folksongs, performed on some unusual instruments.

The Odditoreum is a free family exhibition featuring a menagerie of weird and wonderful curiosities pulled from deep within a museum's vault. These oddities have been transformed by award-winning children’s author and illustrator, Shaun Tan, who has blurred fact with fantasy to create bizarre and intriguing stories for each item.

Tea and Music is a series of high teas and performances that present and perform music from, and inspired by, the State Library’s sound-recordings and sheet music collections.
