Discover the weird, the wonderful and the wacky in The Odditoreum, a free family exhibition featuring a menagerie of curiosities pulled from deep within a museums vault. These oddities have been transformed by award-winning children’s author and illustrator, Shaun Tan, who has blurred fact with fantasy to create bizarre and intriguing stories for each item.

Odd encounters

PLUS, enjoy a whole menagerie of ODD encouters with out events program! We've got something for everyone.

Children can take part in the 2012 Out of the Box Festival with an Odditoreum-inspired performance, odd workshops, odd tours and odd activities.

Adults can join Spec Fic author Trent Jamieson for a creative writing workshop; enjoy a selection of quirky anecdotes and folksongs performed on some unusual instruments at Tea and Music; and show off your creative genius at our trivia style Balderdash Night.

The Odditoreum is a travelling exhibition developed by the Powerhouse Museum. The exhibition is supported by Visions of Australia, an Australian Government program supporting touring exhibitions by providing funding assistance for the development and touring of Australian cultural material across Australia.
