2 minutes to make your mark on the mic!
Speak, scream, howl, whisper or sing your original poem at the second Brisbane heat of the Australian Poetry Slam 2011 competition.
Heat contestants are given a microphone, a live audience and just two minutes to impress the judges (selected at random at each heat) with their original spoken word, poetry, hip hop, monologues and stories.
If you think you’ve got what it takes, sign up is 30 minutes before slam kick-off.
Don’t miss this electric live event! The evening, hosted by Miss Tessa Leon, will also feature a performance by Tenda McFly and US slam artists Jive Poetic and Ken Arkind. Entry is free for both performers and audience members.
If you’d like to sharpen your words before you hit the stage, come along to a free Slam workshop.
