The ART of storytelling
14 – 25 Jan 2013 | For ages 9 – 16
Love cartoons, comics, animated movies or Manga? Find out how to create your own with hands-on tips and tricks from professional artists at Cartoon, Animation and Manga Workshops these summer holidays!
Come for one workshop or stay for the whole day at a reduced rate, with supervised activities at lunchtime. Cartoon, comics and Manga workshop participants take home a sketch pad, pencils and pencil case, and young animators will receive a wristband USB drive with a copy of their own creation.

Cartoons
Discover the art of cartooning and create your own characters! These workshops will develop skills and talents for writing and drawing cartoons while encouraging you to explore your own style.
Comics
Ever wanted to make your own comic book or graphic novel? Learn the language of visual storytelling in comics and develop the skills it takes to put together a comic book. Take your ideas from scribbles to panels on a comic page!
Manga
Interested in the art of Manga? Discover the styles and techniques of this unique art form originating from Japanese comic books. Learn to create and draw characters from the ground up.
Stop motion animation
Love Wallace and Gromit? Create your own clay animation sequence! Workshops build skills in concept development, set and prop construction, and clay sculpting.
Flash animation
Prepare to be taken on an online adventure! Discover how to use the computer animation program Adobe Flash to create your own animated masterpiece.
Scratch animation
Learn how to use Scratch to create your own animated story! Scratch is a free computer program that makes it easy to create your own interactive stories, animations, games, music, and art.
Download information for parents and a consent form. The consent form is to be handed in when you sign your child into their first course.
