2010 winner

Congratulations to Professor Christine Bruce, winner of the 2010 Library Board of Queensland Award.

2009 Winner

awards dinnerUniversity of Queensland Library (UQL) Cyberschool for the development of Cyberschool [new window], developed a website that connects thousands of school students across the state to the university’s library services and resources.

The UQL Cyberschool is an outreach program of the University of Queensland Library connecting schools, school libraries and school students to university library services and resources. It aims to bridge the gap between high school and university. It provides students, particularly those disadvantaged by distance, with the opportunity to experience university research skills and the tertiary environment.

2008 winner

Presentation of the 2008 Library Board of Queensland Award to the representative of the Cherbourg Indigenous Knowledge CentreCongratulations to the Winifred Fisher Indigenous Knowledge Centre (IKC) in Cherbourg, winner of the 2008 Library Board of Queensland Award for its services to the Cherbourg community.

These services range from providing a library to Cherbourg State School students through to playing a traditional role as a Community Library, with more than 800 people using it every month during the school year.

The winner received their award at a gala dinner on 5 June 2008 as part of Queensland Week Celebrations.

Joan Keating for her significant contribution to the development of resources for the study of Australian literature through her involvement with the University of Queensland’s Fryer Library and AustLit: The Australian Literature Resource

Helen PartridgeHelen Partridge, 2007 recipient of the Library Board of Queensland Award

Helen Partridge received the award and $5,000 for her contribution to the library and information sector.

Helen has made a significant contribution to the library community in Queensland, and nationally, in three key areas of research, contribution to professional associations, and education and training of library workers.
