Australian Poetry Slam 2009 - Queensland heats
Queensland’s hottest slam poets mustered at the State Library on Saturday 17 October for the explosive Queensland Final of the 2009 Australian Poetry Slam. A crowd of over 280 people witnessed Queensland’s top 16 slammers throw down their words as they battled it out for the state title. In a close finish, Scott Snedden from Morningside was crowned champion of the night with Meena Shmaly from Townsville taking out 2nd place. Both Slammers will head south to compete in the national finals at the Sydney Opera House in December.
