Awards and competitions
The State Library of Queensland proudly hosts a number of awards and competitions, some open to all Queenslanders and some to specific client groups.
black&write
black&write! is made up of the kuril dhagun Indigenous Writing Fellowships and the kuril dhagun Indigenous Editing Mentorships. The project is designed to recruit, train and mentor Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander editors to develop Indigenous authored manuscripts.
Libraryhack
Libraryhack is a mashup and apps competition designed to encourage the creative and innovative use of library data and digital content.
Poetry Slam
The Queensland section of the Australian Poetry Slam is hosted by the State Library. Workshops and heats are run throughout Queensland in August and September, with the final in October. The winner is flown to Sydney for the National Poetry Slam final.
Queensland Business Leaders Hall of Fame
The Queensland Business Leaders Hall of Fame recognises the outstanding achievements of businesses and business leaders that have contributed to Queensland’s economy, reputation and innovations.
State Library of Queensland Awards
Information about the awards given annually by the Library Board of Queensland recognising achievement and support in any aspect of work related to libraries. Includes the Library Board, John Oxley Library and John Oxley Library Community History Awards and the John Oxley Library Fellowship.
Young Writers Award
