Awards and competitions

The State Library of Queensland proudly hosts a number of awards and competitions, some open to all Queenslanders and some to specific client groups.

The Australian Library of Art at SLQ is offering two Siganto Foundation Artists' Books Fellowships in 2015, thanks to the generosity of the Foundation. Applications are open now until 27 February.

Queensland Memory AwardsQueensland Memory Awards
The Queensland Memory Awards are given annually by the Library Board of Queensland to recognise the achievement of excellence in library research and the contribution of new knowledge to Queensland’s history. Supported by the Queensland Library Foundation.

SLQ's annual Young Writers Award of $2,000 is open to Queenslanders aged 18 to 25.

The black&write! Indigenous Writing and Editing Project consists of an annual Indigenous Writing Fellowship competition and Indigenous Editing Internships.

Poetry Slam performerPoetry Slam
The Queensland section of the Australian Poetry Slam is hosted by the State Library. Workshops and heats are run throughout Queensland in July and August, with the final in September. The winner is flown to Sydney for the National Poetry Slam final.

Hot & Bothered – Save Modern Queensland invited you to submit a 3-minute film on a mid-century modern building in Queensland that you love. Winners announced!
