Australian Italian Festival

The Australian Italian Festival is an annual festival held over two days at the Tyto Precinct near the township of Ingham in the Great Green Way region of North Queensland. Through food, wine, song, cooking demonstrations, market stalls, historical displays, competitions, challenges and a range of artistic presentations, it celebrates the culture of Italian migrants and their descendants in the Hinchinbrook Shire as well as the significant contribution Italian Australians make to our way of life.

The images were captured by Sarah Scragg from the 2013 Festival held over the weekend of 3-4 August.

The oral histories were recorded by Jan Cattoni with Nino Cardillo and Pino Giandomenico.
