The State Library of Queensland'a beautiful contemporary design and array of galleries and striking indoor and outdoor spaces, are perfect for creating special events and memorable meetings.
As an event space, The State Library sets a very high benchmark for unique venues and can cater for cocktail parties, banquets, meetings and conferences ranging from four to 300 guests. For the meeting planner, life gets even easier with the State Library offering assistance through our dedicated Venue Hire unit.
Venues for hire
Ranging in size, the State Library's venue hire facilities offer a range of meeting rooms and auditoriums for your next meeting, conference or product launch. Other spaces include the slq Boardroom overlooking the city and the Brisbane River, a dedicated computer training room, the spectacular Queensland Terrace, and open air River Decks located directly on the Brisbane River.

Venues for study and private meetings
To cater for those wanting quiet study or meeting spaces, the State Library has a range of smaller meeting rooms within our library collection areas. These rooms range in capacity from four to fourteen people, and are available free of charge for up to three hours.
Only one booking per day, per person, group or individual is permitted. Please note that bookings for study rooms can only be processed during business hours Monday to Friday.
Please note:
- Bookings made after 3:00 pm on Friday's will not be processed for the weekend.
- If you are more than 10 minutes late for your room booking, the booking will be forfeited and the room made available for other users.

Music practice room
The music practice room is available for you to rehearse music from our collection.
