The Library Board of Queensland offers a quality photographic service for many of the items held in the John Oxley Library's pictorial collections, as well as from microform and original hardcopy collections. The basic fees and service standards are detailed below. If you have requirements which cannot be met by this service, please do not hesitate to discuss them with the Library staff.
Our Document Supply service also provides access to copies from the State Library collection and to items held in other Australian or overseas libraries.
How to order
Image orders can be made through One Search for selected collections if the 'Order a copy' option is available.
Alternatively, the Photographic and Digital Image Order Form can be completed.
Orders cannot be submitted online. Completed forms can be submitted via:

Please note that payment in Australian dollars is required at the time of ordering. All prices are in $AU and include GST.
Payment can be made by providing credit card payment details, by cheque or in person at The Library Shop.
The schedule is effective from January 2012.

* These prices include the cost of creating a digital scan which can be supplied with your print for an additional $2.20 (cost of CD).

Special formats
Formats that are outside the scope of the Library's photographic unit would be referred to a commercial photographer for provision of a quotation.
Packaging and delivery costs
Orders can be supplied electronically (digital scans only), collected from the State Library or posted.
Packaging and delivery costs do not apply to electronically supplied or collected orders.

Service levels
Standard image orders will be processed within ten working days.
Urgent orders are processed within 3 working days. A charge of double the fee (excluding packaging and delivery costs) will apply to urgent orders.
Discount
A 10% discount will apply to all orders over $500 (excluding packaging and delivery costs).
Image use and copyright
The State Library does not charge for the use of images in its collection. Permission to publish images where copyright has expired does not need to be sought from the State Library.The State Library requests that images are acknowledged, and the negative number or other identifier is displayed with the image (e.g. State Library of Queensland, neg no. 12345).
The State Library requests that a complimentary copy of the item in which the image is published is received for the collection where possible.
Copyright and cultural clearances, where necessary, are the responsibility of the client who shall indemnify the Library Board of Queensland against any action whatsoever taken by the copyright owner(s) against the State Library of Queensland arising in any way whatsoever from the publication of the Photographic Materials by or on behalf of the Applicant.
