To enjoy RLQ membership including full borrowing privileges, visit an RLQ library and provide proof of your name and current address e.g. current driver licence. You must live within the RLQ network area.
If you are under 18, your parent or guardian must show proof of their name and current address.
With full membership, you will receive a library card that must be presented each time you borrow.
If you are an RLQ online member, you can upgrade your membership at any time by visiting your local RLQ library.
Library items can be returned to any RLQ library branch regardless of where they were borrowed. You can return material 24/7 via after-hours access chutes available at most libraries.
Additional terms and conditions of membership may apply at each local library.
With full membership you can:
- reserve library items that can be collected at your home library.
- renew library items you have on loan.
- view current loans and loans history.
Membership to RLQ libraries is free. Some additional services may attract fees at some libraries.
Customers may be charged for lost or damaged library items. Any other charges will be at the discretion of library staff in accordance with their local Council by-laws.
RLQ members receive a courtesy reminder notice before their borrowed items are due for return. The onus is on the customer to ensure their items are returned on time.
Inter-library loans and suggestions for purchase
If the RLQ network does not have the title you need, you can suggest it for purchase if it’s recently published. If it was published over 2 years ago your library will request a loan of the title from another library.
How to renew or update your membership
Your RLQ membership is valid for two years. If you change your contact details or have any questions regarding your membership, please contact your local library.
