Self-directed tours
State Library of Queensland is an exciting place for school children, teachers, educators and parents to visit, explore and discover. We hold significant Queensland collections, including books, journals and magazines, newspapers, manuscripts and archives, maps, rare books, music, photographs and films.
We also provide access to research and reference material across the rest of Australia and the world.
To enrich your experience, we've suggested some teaching and learning activities to undertake prior, during and after your visit.
Please note: Bookings are essential for school visits; please email learning@slq.qld.gov.au

Tour notes
To assist teachers, parents and educators with school visits, we've developed two self-directed tours: one for senior students (years 10-12) and one for middle phase students (years 5-9).
The tours are available as an app for mobile devices and as a printable PDF handout. They help orientate students to the State Library and will encourage them to discover the collections and services to help with study.
