How do I register for the course?
- Go to www.learning.slq.qld.gov.au
- Click on the Looking @ 2.0 picture.
- Click on the Register or Login button in the grey box.
- Read the instructions about creating a new account. Click on Create new account and fill out the form.
- Once submitted, a confirmation email will be sent to you. Yopu will need to click on the link in your email to confirm your registration and enter the course. This only happens for the first time.
- Once your registration is confirmed you can login with your username and password.
Don't forget to complete the course survey to go into the draw to win some great prizes!
What do I do if I can't remember my username and/or password?
On the Register / Login page, click on the Yes help me login button. Follow the prompts to get a new password sent to your email.

When can I access the course?
The course is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. you can login and access the modules whenever it suits you.
How do I access the topics?
When you first register in the Looking @ 2.0 course, and confirm it your registration via email, you'll be taken to the Looking @2.0 homepage. All available topics are listed.
- Click on the topic you're interested in.
- When asked if you wish to enrol, click Yes.
- You will now be enrolled in that topic and will be able to access it at any time.
- You will only have to enrol once.
Do I have to do all the modules?
No. You can do as many or as few topics as you wish.
Is there someone who can help me with the course?
- Some public libraries have run sessions to help you register and complete the topics. Ask your local library if they are participating in State Library's Looking @ 2.0 program.

I want to know more about these topics. Where do I go?
At the end of each topic, you'll find a list of useful links and videos under 'Learn more'. You can also search the web for these topics and go to the official sites of each web program mentioned.
I have slow speed internet. Can I still do the course?
Yes. You can still read the text and try the activities. Videos may take a while to load, so be patient and read YouTube's Watching videos on dial-up.
Can anyone else see my personal details?
Your personal details will only be seen by the course administrators at State Library.
What is a strong password?
A strong password is one that is difficult to guess. It usually has more than 8 characters, consisting of a mix of uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers and symbols.

How do I avoid getting a virus on my computer?
Please ensure your virus protection software is up-to-date. If you don't have anti-virus installed and use Windows Vista or XP, there are several available for free. Read some tips and some suggestions for free anti-virus software from Stay Smart Online. Please also see our disclaimer.
How can I tell what are ads and what is content on a web page?
Refer to these examples. They may assist you in making the correct judgement.
What are cookies and how do I enable them?
Cookies remember how you use a webpage in order to show you relevant information in future visits. For example, it might remember your username and automatically fill in the login box next time.
If you are asked to accept cookies when you login to the course, just click on Accept. Click on the question mark next to Cookies must be enabled in your browser for more information.
If you haven't enabled cookies in your browser, try the following:
If you use Internet Explorer:
- Open Internet Explorer
- Click on Tools, then Internet Options, then click on the Privacy tab
- To accept all cookies ensure the sliding scale is at the bottom.
- Click on Apply and OK
If you use Mozilla Firefox:
- Open Firefox
- Click on Tools, then Options, then Privacy
- Tick the boxes next to 'Accept cookies from sites' and "Accept third party cookies'
- From the drop down screen next to 'Keep until' choose 'they expire'. (To see what cookies you have from sites and to remove any click on 'Show cookies'. However if you remove any you may find you are not able to use some sites.)
- Click on OK.
