National Film and Sound Archive

The National Film and Sound Archive (NFSA) is Australia’s premier audio-visual archive, holding more than 2.3 million works within its collection.  Such works include film, television, sound, radio and oral history and much more.

The State Library of Queensland is an official NFSA partner and the Queensland Access Centre, enabling you to access material from the NFSA collection for free.

How to access

To request material simply submit your request directly to NFSA.  You can do this by:

  1. Searching the NFSA collection and compiling a list of items
  2. Reviewing your list by clicking 'view my list’
  3. Sending your access request via the online form (use the red access request button).

NFSA will send your requested material to State Library and we will contact you to arrange your access.

Conditions of use

  • The loan period is determined by NFSA but is normally 28 days.
