Copies and loans
The State Library of Queensland does not lend most collection items directly to individuals but you may be able to borrow items through the interlibrary loan service provided by your local library. Queensland residents can borrow items from our music scores collection.
The State Library provides access to items through the following services:
Document Supply
For individuals to:
- order copies from the State Library collection
- access items held in other Australian or overseas libraries.
Interlibrary Loans
For libraries to request items from the State Library collection.
Image Orders
For individuals to order digital files or prints from the State Library collection.
Music Loans
For loans of music scores (sheet music) from the State Library collection to individuals, groups and schools.
Exhibitions
Special exhibition kits are available for loan to Queensland Public Libraries and organisations.

For loans from the State Library collection to approved organisations for the purposes of exhibiting.
Public & Indigenous Library Development
P&ILD provide loan support to Queensland Public Libraries.

The lending services provided by the State Library of Queensland are supported by the Collaborative Lending Principles agreed to by the National and State Libraries Australasia (NSLA).
