Requirements and obligations for publishers and writers
Publishers are required by law, part 8 of the Libraries Act 1988 (Qld), to deposit a copy of anything which is published in Queensland with the State Library of Queensland for permanent preservation. Most 'legal deposit' material is kept in the John Oxley Library.
The John Oxley Library strives to collect the complete body of work of Queensland authors, including all domestic and foreign editions.
