The State Library of Queensland's newspaper collections is comprised of paper, microfilm and online editions of Queensland, interstate, national and overseas newspapers, both current and historical. In many instances our collections date back to the first issue.
Tim Fairfax Newspaper Reading Room
The Tim Fairfax Newspaper Reading Room provides convenient access to today's newspapers from Queensland, Australia and overseas, available in paper and electronic format.
From the Gold Coast to Cunnamulla, from Mount Isa to Torres Strait, from Cooktown to Brisbane, the State Library seeks to comprehensively collect newspapers, past and present, from all of Queensland.
State Library subscribes to a number of newspaper eresources giving full text access to hundreds of newspaper titles from around the world. Some databases have significant archives of early articles. Access Finding information in newspapers for an awareness of what's available.
National and International newspapers
The State Library holds all Australian capital city dailies, national dailies, and many international newspapers, including extensive archives on microfilm and in digital formats. There are also electronic and paper indexes for many of these newspapers.
