Manuscripts Queensland
A gateway to the private documentary heritage of Queensland

Manuscripts Queensland is a major resource discovery initiative of the State Library of Queensland, providing online access to finding aids of the original material collections held in the John Oxley Library and the Australian Library of Art, including the Johnstone Gallery Archive.
Manuscripts Queensland unlocks the hidden heritage resources of the State Library of Queensland and is an investment in the creation and delivery of collections and services in an online information environment. Manuscripts Queensland will continue to grow as the State Library acquires new collections, and as existing collections are described in detail.
Increasingly, digital images and transcriptions of items from collections will be available with their descriptive finding aid. The newest digital features of Manuscripts Queensland are:
- the Manifesto of the Queensland Labour Party, 1892, from the papers of Charles Seymour
- the Archer Brothers in Queensland, from the Archer Family Correspondence, a collection of 153 letters.
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander material and information accessed on this site may be culturally sensitive to some individuals and communities. Refer to the State Library’s Protocols for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Collections [new window
