- Read without Paper [new window]: Australian and international content with a superior catalogue.
- Setis [new window]:Australian literature and historical texts, primarily on early Australian culture and history.
- Project Gutenberg Australia [new window]: includes a library of Australiana.
- British library classics [new window]: The British library website has a small e-book collection of unique historical importance.
- The On-Line books page [new window]: an index of over 30,000 titles that you can read online.
- Manybooks [new window]: an e-books website that contains non fiction and fiction materials for the internet reader.
- Feedbooks [new window] and Smashwords [new window]: download free recently published books in the public domain or purchase e-books.
- Google books [new window]: contains many full text e-books, many free to view, others are still in copyright and have various levels of access.
- Book glutton [new window]: an online book club that uses social network tools to discuss books.
- Baldwin online children's literature project [new window]: provides classics of children's literature. Primarily has 19th and 20th century children's books.

E-book databases are available to State Library of Queensland clients, both within the library and, externally, to e-services card holders and QPL (Queensland public library) account holders.
- Gale Virtual Reference Library: a collection of encyclopedias and reference books covering a range of subject areas.
- Oxford Reference Online Premium Collection: contains over 175 dictionaries and reference titles covering a large subject spectrum.
