Literature Resource Center - This online database is available throughout Queensland and includes links to reviews and biographical information for a wide range of authors. Check out the full range of online databases for use at the State Library of Queensland and other databases available Statewide.
Authors - Biographical and bibliographical details of your favourite authors.
Award winners - Listings of international and Australian literary awards.
Book clubs and interactive groups - Listings of book clubs and interactive groups online. Includes information on reading schedules, reviews, guides and discussions.
Book shops - Not just for buying books, these sites can also; supply correct spellings for catalogue searches, list books in a series or those with sequels, provide a synopsis of the book if you're looking for a specific topic or character, direct you to more information about an author. Have a browse through a few and see what's on offer for future reference.
Genres - If you have a favourite style or type of book, here are some sites to help you decide what to read next.
News and reviews - Listings of the latest news and book reviews for upcoming releases.
Online books - Electronic books (e-books) that may be read on a computer using a simple text editor or viewer.

Nancy Pearl rocks the State Library
On Friday 15th December 2006 Nancy Pearl, America's rock star librarian, provided two entertaining and moving talks at the State Library of Queensland. The highlights are now available on this site as video excerpts, in Windows Media and Real format. Watch and listen as Nancy discusses topics including the famous Nancy Pearl action figure doll (with ‘amazing push-button shushing action’), book clubs, and her four doorways to reading - story, character, setting and language.
