Publishers are required by law [part 8 of the Libraries Act 1988 (Qld) new window http://www.legislation.qld.gov.au/LEGISLTN/CURRENT/L/LibrarArchA88.pdf] to deposit a copy of anything which is published in Queensland with the State Library of Queensland for permanent preservation. Most 'legal deposit' material is kept in the John Oxley Library. More information...
