Young people's services
Young people's services provides statewide consultancy and advice on library services for young people to library staff and local Government.
Below are selected resources for librarians working with young people.
- Australian Storytelling [new window] - Information about storytelling and storytellers in Australia. This site provides a forum for storytellers to share their skills and information about workshops, coaching, resources,and accreditation for storytellers.
- Book clubs - Junior book club sets for loan.
- Book lists - Scholastic [new window] - Titles searchable by level, subject, author, illustrator, and series.
- Competitions - Writing competition for young people.
- The Corner Toolkit - A themed suite of original creative learning activities developed by State Library artworkers for children up to 8 years of age.
- Literature centres and literary awards - Information on Australian children's literature centres, and Australian and international children's book awards.
- Services for young people - Selected resources that offer librarians practical help in managing youth services. Including resources for the Summer Reading Club 2010-11.
- Storytelling resources - Resources available for loan to public libraries to supplement their own resources and storytelling programs.
- Young people's librarians group - A forum for public librarians working with young people in Queensland that facilitates networking and information exchange.
